Currently, almost \u00a38million per year is spent repairing the existing traction motors. By completion in 2022 the AC traction and DTS elements of the overhaul project combined will see:<\/p>\n<p>1. An annual reduction of 836 service affecting failures attributed in the CuPID database to \u2018Central line Fleet\u2019, saving 631k Lost Customer Hours with a social benefit of \u00a35.4m per year.<br \/>\n2. An annual reduction of \u00a38m in fleet maintenance costs (\u00a36m material and \u00a32m labour).<br \/>\n3.
